Russia: "Nastya is 8 minutes older than me"

01 May 2014 at 12:00 CEST

The youngest artists in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, at just 17 years old, come from Russia - it's the Tolmachevy Sisters! "Yes, we are twins, but we have completely different characters. And Nastya is 8 minutes older than me", her sister Masha told us when they paid another surprise visit to the arena.

But despite being so young, the twins already won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest - and that was eight years ago! And just for their fans, they stopped by at our studio and performed a snippet of their winning song Vesenniy Jazz:

On Monday, the Tolmachevy Twins were having their first rehearsal in the B&W Hallerne in Copenhagen. They confirmed that, of course, the experience from the Junior Eurovision Song Contest helped them to deal with all their preparational tasks. "But in fact, this is much more difficult here than back at the Junior Eurovision - or maybe we were just too small to notice", they added, smiling.

Actually the performance of their entry Shine is challenging indeed: as they are standing on a tilting seesaw, the first rehearsal was definitely challenging. That's why they came back to the arena on Wednesday to try their choreography again backstage. "We didn't have problems, no. We just feel that we have to practise more - we are actually having our private rehearsals every day", they explained. Here you can see a few impressions:

Their first day in Denmark was a very busy one, but finally they have also found time to relax a bit. "We've been touring Copenhagen these days, it is so much fun! The weather is nice, the sun is shining", Masha said.

"It's such a beautiful city! Yesterday we finally also saw the Little Mermaid", Nastya told us.

We hope that the girls will keep enjoying their time in Copenhagen, and we wish them the best of luck in the First Semi-Final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest!
