Romanian chart-topper ROXEN will perform 'Amnesia' at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam.

ROXEN revealed to Eurovision.tv that her entry for the world's biggest song competition is deeply personal:

"The last year was a bit of a rollercoaster, filled with really good moments and some low points also. In the end, what kept me going the most was that I had some really great projects. Amnesia somehow manages to give a voice to all repressed feelings and to the people whose voices haven't been heard, in a way that for me is incredibly pure. I would like to thank everyone who has been by my side all this time and has offered me all the support that I needed. ROXEN is made up of pieces from each and everyone of you."

The Cluj-Napoca chanteuse worked with songwriters and producers Adelina Stinga and Victor Bourosu on the track that she will perform in the second half of the first Semi-Final on 18 May in Rotterdam.

About ROXEN

Back in 2020, ROXEN became Romania’s Eurovision representative via a songwriting camp that public broadcaster TVR organised in collaboration with the music label Global Records.

Her popularity grew and in advance of the cancelled Contest she was the 3rd most-played artist on Romanian radio with a duo of tracks in airplay charts: You Don’t Love Me (with 8 million views on YouTube) and Ce-ti Canta Dragostea (a further 9 million views and the most ‘Shazamed’ Romanian song).

Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest

Romania joined the competition in 1994 and though they've yet to score a first victory they have finished in the top 5 on 3 occasions. Their best results saw the country finish third with Luminița Anghel and Sistem's Let Me Try (2005) and Paula Seling and Ovi's Playing With Fire (2010)

In 2006, Romania hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Bucharest.
