In early January, a special jury appointed by Romanian broadcaster TVR had selected the 24 songs that would participate in the Romanian selection. Tonight, it was time for the first 12 artists to enter the stage and be judged by a mixture of 50% televote and 50% jury vote (qualifiers in bold):
