Romania is all set for 'Selecţia Naţională' 2022 TVR
Romania sets its sights firmly on Turin this weekend. On Saturday 5 March, broadcaster TVR hosts the grand final of 'Selecţia Naţională' 2022, which will result in Romania getting its entry to the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

📺 TUNE IN: Selecţia Naţională will begin at 20:00 CET on Saturday 5 March. Romanian broadcaster TVR will be hosting the pre-selection on TVR1, with a live stream set up on YouTube especially for international viewers.

After a semi-final stage, which saw a longlist of potential Eurovision songs whittled down to just 10, the grand final of Selecţia Naţională looks set to be an unmissable evening of entertainment coming live from the crossroads of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe on Saturday night; and that’s even before we get to the 10 acts competing…

Romanian broadcaster TVR has assembled an impressive line-up of guest artists to perform on the evening; a selection of acts that is going to appeal to any fan of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The final will see several Eurovision 2022 acts performing as intervals throughout the night: Intelligent Music Project, representing Bulgaria; Zdob și Zdub & Frații Advahov, from Moldova; Vladana, performing her newly released entry for Montenegro; Andrea, heading over from North Macedonia; Ronela Hajati, having travelled all the way from Albania; We Are Domi, representing the Czech Republic; and Stefan, flying south from Estonia. In addition to this pre-Turin line-up, Selecţia Naţională will also be granted an appearance from Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala, who will be performing her winning song 1944.

And no, it’s not gone unnoticed that TVR have managed to get Zdob și Zdub & Frații Advahov to literally travel 'Chișinău – București', so bonus points for that to all involved.

But amongst all that extra excellence, we must not forget the raison d’être for Selecţia Naţională on Saturday night – to find Romania’s entry to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest.

The Voting 🇷🇴

As well as a televote from the Romanian viewing public, there will also be a 5-member jury on hand to give scores. The jury will determine 5/6 of the total points, with the televote accounting for the remaining 1/6.

Eda Marcus and Aurelian Temișan will be the presenters taking us through the evening, with Ilinca Băcilă reporting from the artists green room, and Bogdan Stănescu conversing regularly with the jurors.
