Out of the 24 songs which competed in the two semi-finals on Tuesday and Thursday, twelve qualified for the big final on the eve of the 31st of January. Finally, after a shared vote between a professional jury and the viewers, Elena Gheorghe won! Followed by Cătălin and Blaxy Girls.
She got a total of 22 points, leaving the next places behind with four points, achieving high points from both - jury and the viewers. You can see the reason for that below.
Elena is half Romanian and half Macedonian. She comes from a family of priests and she believes strongly that the most important thing in the world is her family.
She's won a lot of contests and prizes before. One of the last ones being in August 2007 at the Romanian Top Hit Music Awards, where Elena won the award for Best Song of 2007, with the song Your Brown Eyes.
She'll perform fourteenth in the first Semi-Final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest on the 12th of May. You can read more about her here.
