Romania: Nico & Vlad Mirita win!

Nico & Vlad had been tipped as one of the possible winners, so their victory was expected by Romanian fans and experts who now hope for a good placing of the song in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.
The Romanian national final for this year's Eurovision Song Contest was preceded by two Semi-Finals on the 9th and 16th of February. Each semi-final featured twelve songs, of which six proceeded to the big final was held in the TVR's studios in Bucharest. However, from the original twelve songs that qualified for the final, one was withdrawn and another was disqualified. Those two were replaced with Rednex featuring Ro-mania's Railroad, Railroad and Yana's C'est La Vie.

  10. Zero featuring Marius Moga - Come This Way
  11. Yana - C'est La Vie
  12. Nico & Vlad Mirita - Pe-o Margine De Lume 1st
Romanian media had vividly discussed the outcome of the final, and the winner Pe-o Margine De Lume by Nico & Vlad Mirita had been one of the favourites from the startmanaged to win the televote and came second in the jury vote with a total number of 271 points, closely ahead of the runner-up Biondo, who managed to collect 264 points altogether.
Romania will compete in the first Semi-Final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest on the 20th of May.
