According to him the German national selection should be a 'national event'. He told the German news agency DPA he wants the people 'to sit down with their potato salad and sausages and feel that this is the European Championships in singing'. He believes Germany can very well be in the top 10, but not 'land directly first this time'.
The well-known entertainer wants to generate more buzz before the national selection, so that more artist can 'warm themselves up'. The details for the German selection will be released in early September, Raab said.
The German public broadcaster ARD and the commercial station ProSieben decided on a joint show for their selection for Europe's favourite TV-show. The man leading it will be Stefan Raab who has written the German song twice - 1998 and 2004 - and in 2000 took the stage himself with Wadde Hadde Dudde Da?
