Pure joy for Claudia Faniello as she tops iTunes charts

07 February 2012 at 21:19 CET

Claudia had managed to win the vote of the professional jury in Saturday's Maltese national final, however Kurt Calleja secured overall victory by virtue of receiving more televotes from the Maltese public than Claudia.

Claudia, pictured here with lyricist Gerard James Borg and partner David Grech, now sits pretty at the top of the iTunes charts in Malta, outselling international stars such as Adele and Rihanna. She responded to the news by thanking everyone who had downloaded Pure, saying "All of you out there keep brightening my days, many many thanks, keep sharing!".

Pure is a collaboration between Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg, who are themselves the most successful songwriting team in Maltese Eurovision Song Contest history. They were responsible for the Maltese entries from Claudette Pace in 2000, Ira Losco in 2002, Julie & Ludwig in 2004, Olivia Lewis in 2007 and Morena in 2008. Claudia is pictured with Philip below.
