Conan Osiris represents the Host Country of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, Portugal. In Tel Aviv he has rehearsed 'Telemóveis', a song that mixes electronic and ethnic sounds from different influences. Conan is joined on stage by his backing dancer João, as they both move around the stage. The colours of the Portuguese flag are reflected on stage, as both are wearing green outfits with the LED screens being dominated by red-coloured roses.

Conan Osiris will perform 15th for Portugal in the first Semi-Final of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest on Tuesday 14 May at Expo Tel Aviv in Israel.

Conan Osiris is the artist name of 30-year-old Tiago Miranda who was born in Lisbon on 5 January, the same day as Hayao Miyazaki, the animation movie director that created 'Future Boy Conan' from where Tiago took inspiration for his name. The other half of his name, Osiris, comes from Egyptian Mythology from the symbol of rebirth and resurrection.

What happens on stage?

Shattering roses dominate the backdrop in Portugal's performance. The only other colour on stage is green, which is used in the outfits that both Conan Osiris and his dancer João Reis Moreira are wearing. There are black archways surrounding the falling roses and petals on the LED screens, suggesting a relationship between the staging and the song's beat to which Conan and João dance.
