
Portugal 2025: 'Festival da Canção' entries released

Portugal's Festival da Canção returns to TV screens in February, with 20 brand-new compositions having been selected for the critically acclaimed celebration of Portuguese music, which takes place annually.
The winner will get to represent Portugal at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, this May.
On Thursday 23 January, broadcaster RTP unveiled this year's fresh lineup for the very first time.
And we don't have to wait until the show kicks off on Saturday 22 February in order to listen to the new batch of entries - the songs are all out now!

Also on Thursday 23 January, RTP revealed the different lineups of hosts that will be guiding us through the two semi-finals (on Saturday 22 February and Saturday 1 March) and the final (on Saturday 8 March).
For the first semi-final, Jorge Gabriel and José Carlos Malato will be on hand to present the songs competing for a place in the final, while viewers of the second semi-final will watch as Tânia Ribas de Oliveira and Sónia Araújo take on presenting duties. Then, for the big final, it'll be Vasco Palmeirim and Eurovision Song Contest 2018 host Filomena Cautela taking us through Festival da Canção's exciting conclusion.

The winner of Festival da Canção 2024 was the song Grito performed by iolanda. At the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, iolanda continued Portugal's current streak of qualifying for the Grand Final; for the 4th time in as many years.
Grito gave Portugal a Top 10 finish with 152 points. It is Portugal's 12th Top 10 finish since the country started competing at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964.
