Måns Zelmerlöw, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, will co-host the 2016 contest in Stockholm alongside firm fan favourite Petra Mede, it was announced today.

The dynamic duo are no strangers to the Eurovision Song Contest; Petra hosted the show in 2013 and earlier this year presented Eurovision's Greatest Hits alongside Graham Norton. Måns first took part in Sweden's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Melodifestivalen, in 2007 and in 2015 he won the right to represent Sweden at the contest with his song 'Heroes'.

2016 will be the third time that Stockholm has staged the Eurovision Song Contest. "I’m so incredibly happy to be part of the Eurovison Song Contest once more and to be doing it together with Petra Mede, whom I consider an outstanding host and also one of the most delightful people I know" says Måns Zelmerlöw.

Petra Mede, who made a lasting impression on viewers in 2013, said "It’s so incredible that I, once again, get the honour to be a part of the Eurovision Song Contest and doing this together with Måns Zelmerlöw, it’s a dream come true. He’s extremely professional so the one to be worried about is me, and what I’m going to wear. It’s like when I once dared to try a rollercoaster for the first time and someone then - when I’m standing there euphoric of happiness - comes and tells me: ”You can go one more time, and this time together with a gorgeous guy!”.

Martin Österdahl, Executive Producer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, added "We are incredibly proud to present a host duo of superstars in this context. Viewers in Europe will recognise Petra Mede from her acclaimed effort in 2013 and Måns Zelmerlöw as the defending champion. With their capability we can build on recognition and deliver something unexpected that Europe hasn’t seen before".

The Eurovision Song Contest 2016, organised in cooperation with City of Stockholm, will be staged at the Globe Arena on Tuesday May 10 (Semi Final 1), Thursday May 12 (Semi Final 2) and Saturday May 14 (Grand Final).
