ORF starts search for Eurovision volunteers

18 November 2014 at 09:00 CET

An application form for becoming a volunteer at the event in Vienna has been opened today. You can find it on songcontest.orf.at.

The Executive Producer of the 2015 contest, Edgar Böhm: "It’s been nearly 50 years that the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Austria – this grand event is an incredible experience for our team, which will stay in our memories forever.

To become a volunteer at the Eurovision Song Contest you need to be at least 18 years of age, speak German and English fluently, be able to attend the big casting on the 14th and 15th of March, and of course be available between the 4th and the 24th of May next year.

"Volunteers are the front line of the Eurovision Song Contest. They are the calling cards of the event and the entire country. They have extreme influence on how visitors will view Austria after two straight weeks of constant interaction." Böhm adds.

Apply at songcontest.orf.at

Interested parties should apply online with a curriculum vitae and a cover letter, and then apply for a casting between the 2nd and the 15th of February next year.

The castings will be held in all of the nine Austrian province studios, and the final casting on the 14th and 15th of March in Vienna. The positions ORF wants to fill are versatile. Volunteers will be deployed in the press centre, the info desks, the accreditations, in the assistance of the audience and the production team, as delegation hosts as well as team leaders.

The Eurovision Volunteers Program is based upon voluntariness. During their time with us the volunteers will have accident insurance, will receive warm meals as well as a Eurovision Song Contest outfit – but most of all, they can experience the contest first hand!
