NRK presents Eurovision stage to the press

06 May 2010 at 23:13 CEST

In just 10 days from now, the first participants will rehearse at the Telenor Arena stage, which actually consists of a lot more than just a performance area. The circle, which has a diameter of 18 meters, is surrounded by various layers of light and physical material, rather than the overwhelming LED-technology which has been used in previous years.

The stage floor is made of layers of glass and mirrors, creating a depth effect combined with various light techniques. The light design was done by Eurovision Song Contest veteran Al Gurdon and his team.

The stage is surrounded by enormous riggs of light that stretch far into the arena, which has a capacity of over 16,000 for the Eurovision Song Contest. Using light elements connected to the riggs, the audience becomes an integral part of the stage.

We recommend you to check out the video of the stage presentation, based on the music of Juliana Pasha's It's All About You, this year's Albanian Eurovision Song Contest entry. More pictures can be found on NRK's website!
