John Lundvik won 'Melodifestivalen 2019', Sweden's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, which brought him to the Expo Tel Aviv stage for his first rehearsal today. In terms of first looks, most of his winning performance from 'Melodifestivalen' has been kept the same, including the black clothing, the LED light-bar in the backdrop, and his backing by the 4 powerful voices of The Mamas!

John Lundvik will take to the stage 8th in the second Semi-Final on Thursday 16 May at Expo Tel Aviv in Israel.

Songwriter John Lundvik got his major breakthrough as an artist in Melodifestivalen 2018 when his song My Turn was voted directly to the final. He became that year's big surprise when he reached a fantastic third place. In 2019, John managed to top his achievement performing the song Too Late For Love that had enormous success, reaching #1 in the Swedish charts and sending him to the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.

What happens on stage?

John Lundvik delivers a dramatic and dynamic performance of Too Late For Love marked by the contrast between John's black clothing, the dark stage and the lighting behind him. John performs in front of an LED light-bar, and more lights are turned on in the backdrop as the song reaches its climax. Halfway through the song John is joined by the four female backing singers known as 'The Mamas': Loulou Lamotte, Ashley Haynes, Paris Renita and Dinah Yonas Manna.
