Norway's 'Melodi Grand Prix' to return, with song submissions open now

Norwegian broadcaster NRK has opened the submission window for songs to compete to become the country's next Eurovision entry.

Melodi Grand Prix will be returning to Norwegian television screens for 2025, with the next edition of Norway's annual Eurovision pre-selection all set to find the Nordic nation's song for Switzerland.

Norwegian broadcaster NRK is welcoming in song submissions for its beloved national final, which in 2024 saw 18 entries compete across 4 weeks, encompassing three semi-finals and a final.

The submission window opened on Tuesday 6 August and will remain open until Sunday 1 September. NRK has laid out the rules for songwriters and artists, as well as the submission form, over on their official website.

The winner of Melodi Grand Prix 2025 will be the successor to the 2024 pre-selection's champ, Ulveham by Gåte. The band from Trøndelag represented Norway at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, taking the country all the way to Saturday night's Grand Final.

In the past 10 Contests, Norway has qualified to the Grand Final 9 times, and finished inside the Top 10 on 6 of those occasions.
