24 January 2009 at 22:01 CET

After representing her native country Norway in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Maria Haukaas Storeng switched jobs and is one of the hosts of the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix this year, together with Per Sundnes. Tonight, the couple presented 7 out of 21 songs overall - a record number! -  in front of an enthusiastic audience in Kongsvinger (qualifiers in bold):

  • Surferosa - U Look Good
  • Chicas del Coro - Men, Men, Men!
  • KeSera - Party
  • Espen Hana - Two Of A Kind
  • Charite - Sweeter Than A Kiss
  • Thomas Brøndbo - Det Vart En Storm
  • Velvet - Tricky

Espen Hana and Surferosa will have another chance to qualify in the so-called second chance round which will take place on 14th February and which will feature those artists who didn't manage to qualify directly for the final in one of the three first semi-finals, but came third and forth respectively in their heats. Furthermore, the fifth-placed song that got the highest percentage of votes in the three semi-finals will also make Last Chance together with a wildcard which will be determined by the readers of the Norwegian newspaper VG.
