On the 20th of November, the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Belarusian capital, Minsk. It will be the eighth edition of this contest, which has been held annually since 2003. Every country is represented by a child (or a group of children) aged between 10 and 15, and each entry has to be chosen in an open national selection including televoting. All songs have to be performed in one of the national languages of the respective country.
The 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Minsk Arena (pictured above), hosted and produced by the Belarusian public broadcaster BTRC. For the first time, the show will be produced in High Definition TV (HDTV). The list of participating broadcasters has not been revealed yet.

In April, the logo for the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest has been presented (see above), the idea behind of which is inspiration. "The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is an example of young talents from different countries. For these shining stars everything is possible, they can inspire millions of people all over the world! Wings are a symbol of freedom, ease of flying, creative inspiration and rising above. Different colours mean different people, cultures and countries," as the producer of the contest, Alexander Martynenko, explained.
All revenues of the televoting in the participating countries will be donated to UNICEF, and several ambassadors of UNICEF will be part of the show as well. Stay with us to find out more about the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and visit its official website!
