Apart from Agnes - who won Swedish Idol in 2005 - all other artists have performed in Melodifestivalen before. Velvet participated in 2006 and 2008, but just as Sofia Berntsson in 2007 didn't make the final ten songs. Amy Diamond participated this year and reached the 8th place in the final in March. Shirley Clamp participated three times in a row from 2003 to 2005 with the best place being the runner-up in 2004. The sisters Lili & Susie are Melodifestivalen veterans and took part already in 1989 when Melodifestivalen was arranged for the first time in Stockholm's Globen.
