On Loop: New Music from the 'Class of 2024'
04 October 2024 at 10:30 CESTWe all got to enjoy their anthems back in May, but our appreciation for the talented artists behind the music of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest most certainly didn't stop once we'd made our way back over the Øresund Bridge.
In the months since then, in between tours, festival and what we hope has been some rest, our 'Class of 2024' have been releasing brand-new music for all of the new fans that they picked up during those three minutes in Malmö.
We've put together a roundup so that you don't miss out on any of these all-new gems!
Our reigning champ Nemo took the summer to bask in the glory of their Eurovision win, while also taking the time to go out into Europe and perform for the audiences that had taken such a shine to The Code in May.
But our Swiss songsmith also found a whole new adventure in London, thanks to their initial trip there via that modern marvel of intercontinental travel, the Eurostar. And it’s that journey that formed the inspiration for the follow-up single to Nemo’s Eurovision winner. Eurostar was released on Friday 4 October.
Malmö runner-up Baby Lasagna has been getting up to plenty over the summer. As well as embarking on an extensive tour, the Croatian sensation has also found the time to release two singles to follow on from the rocket-fuel refrain that was the artist’s Eurovision silver medalist Rim Tim Tagi Dim.
Both new tunes - and I and Biggie Boom Boom - came with swish music videos, too.
alyona alyona and Jerry Heil came together to represent their native Ukraine in May, with their song Teresa & Maria earning a third-place finish at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest. Since then, the pair have returned to their respective careers and unleashed a few new gems into the world.
alyona alyona isn't done with the collaborations yet, however; releasing Моє покоління with Vyshebaba and Тільки в твоїх обіймах with KLER, as well as saving Тато for herself. Jerry Heil released the MARIA EP, and then the single #AllEyesOnKids along with two collaborations - ГУБИ У ГУБАХ with Volodymyr Dante and WABI-SABI with Liverpool 2023 co-host Julia Sanina.
Slimane followed up his Eurovision experience by giving his new audience a complete introduction to his music, releasing the Essentiels greatest hits album in May. Since then, the Frenchman has returned with Résister (What about Peace?), with a live performance video of the class we've come to expect from him, filmed outside of Notre-Dame de Paris.
Israel's Eden Golan has gone from Hurricane to the more mid-tempo Older, the single and music video for which the artist released in late September.
Ireland's Bambie Thug is currently out on a European tour, but found the time to follow-up their Eurovision smash Doomsday Blue in early September. New single Hex So Heavy comes with a trademark twisted music video, too.
Angelina Mango didn't wait long after Malmö wrapped to introduce her new fans to new music; the Italian singer released the melodrama single in late May, followed by her debut album Poké melodrama shortly afterwards. More recently, Angelina has also put out the Per du come noi collaboration with Olly and JVLI.
More new albums have come courtesy of LADANIVA and Marcus & Martinus. The Armenian duo put out a new version of their self-titled album, now called LADANIVA (Postcards) and featuring brand-new songs. And the Norwegian twins who represented Sweden released their Unforgettable album in May, which featured some of the boys' recent hits, as well as a set of new songs, too.
Portugal's iolanda went down the EP route, releasing the 5-song collection OLHAR P'RA BAIXO in July. iolanda has since followed this up with Laurinda, a collaboration with Karetus and Vitorino that came out at the end of September.
Marina Satti has been having hits aplenty in her native Greece, thanks to the songs that make up her chart-topping EP P.O.P, which the artist released just days after her Eurovision participation. LALALALA in particular has been inescapable in Greece throughout the summer.
And Germany's ISAK has put out two new songs since Malmö - Never The Same and word by word. We've also had one single apiece from Cyprus' Silia Kapsis (Red Flag) and Lithuania's Silvester Belt (Tyliai Tyliai).
Another new album arrived courtesy of Czechia's Aiko, who fully leaned into her Eurovision moniker and titled it AIKONIC! And we also had a new album release from Latvia's Dons (Laiks), as well as another English-language single to follow up Hollow, Dark.
Fresh from ZORRA, Spain's Nebulossa have got another caps-lock classic on their hands with COTILLEO. And after Raiven took Slovenia to the final in May with Veronika, she's returned with another female-focused ode - on her new single Mama.
FAHREE & Ilkin Dovlatov weren't done with making music together after their Eurovision entry for Azerbaijan, Özünlə Apar. They've since gotten together to release Azərbaycan, while FAHREE has put out his own single Tərki-Dünya and a collaboration with Nurlana UnderCover, Dön Geriyə. Ilkin Dovlatov, meanwhile, has been working seemingly non-stop since his time in Malmö - the singer has released 7 singles over the summer, plus his most recent release - the EP Yaşa Ürəyim.
And we've had yet more new music from Belgium's Mustii and Albania's Besa, who've released one single each - Tell The Kids It's Alright and Aman respectively. Plus, we've had two new tunes apiece from both Poland's Luna (Alive and Wild West) and Malta's Sarah Bonnici (Lose and Love You Like That).
