Netherlands: Hind sings Your Heart Belongs To Me

The singer describes her song as a "cool pop song with oriental influences", and believes that the song it probably "more cool than people expect from me." Even though Hind received several compositions after her open invitation to submit songs, she chose an existing composition, co-written by herself. Writer Tjeerd van Zanen also wrote previous Dutch Eurovision Song Contest entries One Good Reason (1999) and One More Night  (2003). Bas van den Heuvel produced numerous songs of Glennis Grace, who represented the Netherlands at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. Her song, My Impossible Dream, was also produced by Van den Heuvel.

In an interview with the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, Hind said that she wants to "break the negativity around the Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands." However, when the first saw the Irish contestant Dustin the Turkey, she lost faith for a moment: "Horrible, I have to compete with a singing turkey (...) Imagine people vote for it, just because they think it's funny," she said.

According to media reports ánd inside sources, Hind's tune for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest is a 'typical Hind-song' - English-language pop, with oriental influences. The show in which the entry will be presented is currently being recorded and will be aired tonight on Dutch television, starting at 21:40 CET.

The Netherlands will take part in the first Semi-Final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest on the 20th of May. Broadcaster NOS announced to air both Semi-Finals ánd the Final live.
