NeonoeN have won the inaugural edition of 'Montesong', with their song 'CLICKBAIT'.

Wednesday 27 November became an evening of much-needed Montenegrin music as we ventured over to the Voco Sports Hall in the country's capital of Podgorica, to tune in to the very first edition of Montesong.

16 songs competed for the honour of being the first to be awarded that brand-new trophy. Both a jury vote and a viewer vote were called upon to determine a winner, and after three hours of televisual entertainment celebrating the music of Montenegro, we had our champ!

CLICKBAIT becomes the premiere prize-winner of Montesong, performed by the band NeonoeN.

If you missed it, you can already catch up on the whole show over on RTCG's official Montesong YouTube channel.

NeonoeN

The band was founded under the name Neon back in 2012, in the city of Podgorica. Today, the group is made up of Marko Vukčević, Ilija Pejović, Filip Vulanović and Milan Vujović.

A brand-new album is in the works currently, the first taste of which came via the recent singles Dok Ne Udahnem Te and Dječak Sa Vjetrom U Kosi.

Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest

Montenegro debuted as an independent nation at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007; previously they had participated as part of Yugoslavia and also as one half of the union between Serbia and Montenegro.

The first time Montenegro qualified for the Grand Final was in 2014 when Sergej Ćetković took Moj Svijet (‘My World’) to 19th on the scoreboard.

Their most successful participation came the following year in Vienna, when Knez finished in 13th place with the ballad Adio (‘Farewell’).

Coincidentally, 13th place is also the highest position they’ve achieved at Junior Eurovision, thanks to Jana Mirković with her 2015 song Oluja (‘Storm’).
