NDR starts selection for Eurovision Song Contest

A total of 20 candidates will be invited to the German national selection of Unser Star Für Oslo (or Our Star For Oslo). The first show will be held on the 2nd of February 2010 and the final is to be broadcast on the 12th of  March at 20:15 CET.

In the first two elimination shows (2nd and 9th of February on ProSieben) ten candidates will compete. Five will qualify from each of them for the next round. Only two will make it to the final of the selection as the others will be eliminated in the elimination shows and a quarter-final.

The viewers will decide who will represent Germany in Oslo and which song that artist will perform.

As previously announced, Stefan Raab serves as the president of the jury and will judge the performances together with two changing prominent judges such as Sarah Connor, Jan Delay, Marius Müller-Westernhagen and many more.

In 2009, Germany finished twentieth in the Final of the 54th Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow with Alex Swings Oscar Sings! song Miss Kiss Kiss Bang.
