Molly takes Glastonbury by storm... Literally!

30 June 2014 at 18:28 CEST

Despite a lowly 17th place at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen last month, Molly Smitten-Downes' career has gone from strength to strength since returning home.

Earlier this month it was announced that she would perform at what is often termed to be one of the world's biggest and most famous music festivals: Glastonbury! Here, she appeared on the same line-up as the likes of global superstars such as Dolly Parton and Metallica.

Below you can see Molly performing her song OCD on stage in Glastonbury:

However, after just one song the phrase taking Glastonbury "by storm" ended up taking on a double entendre, as not only did Molly wow the audience with her stunning voice, she also had to improvise as not long after going on stage a powerful thunderstorm passed over the festival grounds leading to a powercut in the tent in which she was performing. As Molly is not the type to be easily deterred, she repositioned herself to the centre of the tent and sang acoustic versions of her Eurovision Song Contest entry, Children Of The Universe, and also a cover version of Dolly Parton's Jolene.

Molly also received a lot of attention on social media, praising her for soldiering on with her performance, despite the power cut:
