Moldova: National final on March 10th

04 January 2012 at 08:24 CET

Just like in most recent years, the Moldovan entry for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest will again be chosen in a public national final, to be broadcast live on March 10th. Songs can be submitted until January 16th, with only Moldovan artists being eligible to enter. However, up to two band members can be foreigners, and collaboration with foreign songwriters is also allowed.

After that, a multi-stage process will be used to narrow down the number of entries. First of all, an expert jury will pre-select a number of entries that will get the chance to be performed in live auditions, where their live singing and performing abilities will be judged.

Out of those, 20 entries will proceed to the national final. Three additional entries will receive a wild card for the final by the decision of an online vote, raising the total number of entries in the national final to 23. In the national final, the winner will be chosen by a 50/50 combination of televoting and the votes of an expert jury.
