As in previous years, the selection of the Moldovan entry for the Eurovision Song Contest will be conducted in two steps: First of all, singers and songwriters can submit their entries online on the TRM website. An expert jury will then listen to all the songs and select up to 30 for the second stage of the selection, the national song contest, to be broadcast live on TV Moldova 1 and TV Moldova International. The winner of the national final will be chosen through a 50/50 combination of televoting and the verdict of a professional jury.
In the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, Moldova was represented by Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira, who came 22nd in the Final. Moldova has participated in Europe's Favourite TV Show every year since 2005, and the best placing to date was reached by Zdob si Zdub with Boonika Bate Doba in the very first year of participation: The popular band came 2nd in the Semi-Final and 6th in the Final of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest.
