Broadcaster TRM has revealed that 32 songs are in the running to represent Moldova at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.
These 32 songs have been selected by an expert committee to make it through to the next stage of Moldova's pre-selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, Etapa Națională. The entries can be heard of the website as of now.
This next stage takes the form of a 'live audition' on Saturday 13 January, during which all 32 songs will be performed in front of a jury, who will score each entry. The 10 songs with the highest number of points will then go on to compete in the final of Etapa Națională, which will be broadcast live on Saturday 17 February.
At the all-important Etapa Națională final in February, all 10 songs will be performed again, and a combination of 50% televote and 50% jury vote will decide which entry gets to represent Moldova in Malmö.
At the 2023 Contest in Liverpool, Moldova was represented by the Etapa Națională 2023 winner Pasha Parfeni, and his song Soarele și Luna. The song took Moldova to the Grand Final, where it finished in 18th place.
