Christmas holidays are often a time for family and friends to get together, but they are also a time for reflection. 2017 posed many challenges for world and these challenges have been felt acutely in Europe. 

Despite these challenges, the Eurovision Song Contest continues to unite people through music. It is an event where countries set aside any differences they may have and celebrate music together.
