Last year the Czech Republic qualified for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time ever. This year Martina Bárta, a new discovery on the jazz scene, is hoping to repeat that success with her song My Turn.

Martina Bárta divides her time between Prague and Berlin. Her music can be described as a combination of the classics and a love of everything modern and innovative. Martina has experienced her most significant success and popularity in Germany, where she studied and she performs regularly at jazz festivals and also pursues her own musical projects.

My Turn was written by Kyler Niko, a songwriter, singer and producer and DWB (Paul Drew, Greig Watts and Pete Barringer) a writing and production team from the UK. "I was surprised pleased about my nomination," said Martina. "It definitely changed my plans and my life got a bit crazier for a while but I like it! I didn't expect so many positive reactions from my friends!"

Many singers have special routines before going on stage and the same is true of Martina. "I believe in the power of natural stones. One of my music teachers gave me a stone, which should help being resistant to the fears before going on stage. The stone should be placed near to your heart. I thought about it, that I could put it in my bra! I hope it will make me stronger."
