During the show, the TV audience in Slovenia and across Europa was reminded about some of the greatest Slovenian entries at the Eurovision Song Contest in the previous years and Nejc Šmit (the host of the show) introduced three lovely co-hosts: Darja Švajger, Maja Keuc and Tinkara Kovač, the well-known Eurovision stars from Slovenia.

Together with three great female vocalists, Šmit gave his best to make the atmosphere in the studio even more exciting and Darja, Maja and Tinkara were performing live their songs, but also covers of Slovenian Eurovision entries through the history including one of the very first songs from Slovenia Dan Ljubezni, a track from 1975 which represented Yugoslavia that year, performed by Pepel In Kri.

Two voting rounds

After the first round of voting ended, Darja Švajger and Maja Keuc have announced the names of two super finalists: MARAAYA and RUDI BUČAR. Furthermore, before the viewers had they say, two potential winning acts have been performed once again. The audience in Slovenia had ten minutes of time to support their favourites and they have given:

  1. MARAAYA (7.311 votes)
  2. RUDI BUČAR (5.449 votes)

MARAAYA is a indie/pop band consisted of Marjetka (vocalist) and Raay (composer). They are working on their first studio album, which might be published before the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. Apparently, the first single Lovin' Me is already published.

Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest

Slovenia participated 20 times, debuting in 1993. The best results were achieved by Darja Švajger (1995) and Nuša Derenda (2001). They both won seventh place.

For those who missed the Allocation Draw for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest held on 26th of January in Vienna – Slovenia will take part in a second half of the Second Semi-Final, on Thursday, 21st of May.
