We find lots of familiar names from previous Maltese selections among the singers and composers, like Fabrizio Faniello, who represented Malta twice before: in Copenhagen in 2001 and in 2006 in Athens. The 24 songs will be premiered on PBS on Friday the 14th of January. The Malta Eurovision Festival 2011 will take place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valleta after several years being at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali.

Malta will try to win in Düsseldorf the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time after finishing second twice, in 2002 with Ira Losco's 7th Wonder and in 2005 with Angel, performed by Chiara. Last year in Oslo Malta failed to qualify for the final with Thea Garret's My Dream.
