Maltese broadcaster PBS reveals its plans for selecting its next Eurovision entry; Malta will have its song for Basel on Saturday 8 February.

We had Malta on loop throughout our time in Malmö, and now we can start thinking about what they'll be serving up in Basel. PBS has confirmed its plans for selecting Malta's entry to the 69th Eurovision Song Contest.

In February, we'll see the return of the country's national final, Malta Eurovision Song Contest. It will be the 4th consecutive year of the popular pre-selection being used to select Malta's Eurovision song.

Viewers will be able to tune in to two semi-finals on 4 and 6 February, followed by an exciting final on Saturday 8 February.

Interested artists, songwriters and their teams are invited by PBS to submit their songs to potentially take part in the 2025 edition of Malta Eurovision Song Contest.

The submission window will open on 18 November, and applications will be accepted until 29 November.

In total, 24 songs will be accepted for Malta's next Eurovision pre-selection. 12 will compete in each semi-final, with a combination of a public vote and a jury vote being used to determine 8 songs from each of the two shows to progress to the final.

The Saturday night culmination of the Maltese national final will have 16 songs competing for the vote; again, a combination of a public vote and jury vote. The winner will get to represent Malta in Basel.
