Malta 2025: Eurovision pre-selection lineup announced

Broadcaster TVM has unveiled the 24 names that will compete in Malta's national final for Basel 2025.

Malta will once again be using a national final to select its entry for the next Eurovision Song Contest. In 2025, Malta Eurovision Song Contest will have 24 entries compete across two semi-finals and a final.

Tuesday 4 February and Thursday 6 February are the dates for your diary if you're planning on following the semi-finals, while Saturday 8 February is when the 16-song final takes place and Malta selects its entry for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest.

Here are the names of the 24 acts in the running, as well as the titles of the songs they'll be performing:

Eurovision fans may well recognise a couple of names in the lineup. Kurt Calleja represented Malta back in 2012, while Fabrizio Faniello (Malta 2001 and 2006) is a member of JVF (along with Jessika, who sang for San Marino at the Contest in 2018).

Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest

Malta debuted at Eurovision 1971 and has competed at 36 Contests in total. While Malta has yet to win the Eurovision Song Contest, it has finished in the runner-up spot twice (in 2002 and 2005), and achieved a bronze-medal finish twice too (in 1992 and 1998). 

The winner of Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was the song Loop by Sarah Bonnici, which went on to represent Malta in Malmö... Inspiring choreography connoisseurs everywhere!
