Malta 2024: The 12 songs in the running for Malmö

After 4 weeks of semi-finals, Malta now has the 12 finalists for its pre-selection ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.

Our first set of semi-finals for Malmö 2024's national-final season has already wrapped! And now Malta can look ahead to choosing its Eurovision entry in January, when the grand final of Malta Eurovision Song Contest takes place.

Across 4 weeks throughout October and November, Maltese broadcaster TVM has been presenting viewers of the TV show XOW with its 36 potential entries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. 9 songs have been performed each week, with a jury and the Maltese public subsequently voting for their faves of the bunch. 

On Friday 24 November, TVM revealed the dozen that have been decided upon. The following artists and songs will be competing in January's final of Malta Eurovision Song Contest:

Janvil – Man
Haley Azzopardi – Tell Me That It’s Over
Ryan Hili – Karma
Erba’ – Sirena
Nathan – Ghost

Matt Blxck – Banana
Gail Attard – Wild Card
Lisa Gauci – Breath

The winner of Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will follow in the footsteps of 2023's champs The Busker. The lovable trio represented Malta in Liverpool in May, with the irresistibly catchy Dance (Our Own Party).

Before we find out who will be flying the flag for Malta in Malmö, we can look forward to seeing how the country fares in Nice - as it takes part in Junior Eurovision Song Contest on Sunday 26 November.
