The city of Malmö calls for volunteers for Eurovision 2024

The Host City for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, Malmö, has released an open call for volunteers who would like to be a part of the Contest as it hits the Swedish city in May.

In May, a colourful spotlight will be on Malmö when the city hosts the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. 600 volunteers are to play an important role when the city of Malmö invites its residents and visitors to an extraordinary event. And now, the recruitment for those volunteers begins.

The Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö will be a major event in the city, where its people will celebrate music, creativity and diversity. On 15 December, Malmö will commence the recruitment of 600 volunteers who want to join in and contribute.

Karin Karlsson, Malmö city's head project leader for the hosting of Eurovision:

"The volunteers are an important part of the hosting of the event, by being good ambassadors for Malmö. It is both an opportunity to make a contribution and at the same time get the chance to experience what happens behind the scenes."

The tasks for volunteers during the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö will vary - everything from guiding invited guests around town to assisting with decor, helping the delegations of the various countries and contributing time and commitment towards being a part of "the face" of Malmö. In addition to being able to speak Swedish and English, a number of volunteers who are knowledgeable in the languages ​​of the countries' delegations will also be sought after.

Mats Schöld, Malmö city's project leader for volunteers at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024:

"There is already a lot of interest in contributing as a volunteer and we expect many applications. We are looking for people who are able to offer themselves and their time, who spread joy and act in a safe and welcoming way, and at the same time are eager to give our visitors an opportunity to discover the city."

On 15 December, the opportunity to apply to be a volunteer opens over at malmo.se/eurovision2024. Recruitment continues until 7 January.
