Lys Assia and Emmelie to perform at Stockholm Pride

20 June 2013 at 12:59 CEST

On the 1st of August at Östermalms Idrottsplats (also dubbed "Pride Park"), the first and latest winners of Europe's favourite TV show will perform at the annual Stockholm Pride event.

"I am really looking forward to Stockholm Pride, to be able to meet the public and perform Only Teardrops as well as a new song of mine. Together we are going to put on a magical evening on the 1st of August", says Emmelie de Forest, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Denmark in Malmö last month.

"It is an honour to be invited to Stockholm Pride and to perform the first ever Eurovision winning entry Refrain. I am looking forward to meeting the Pride audience who I have been told are true Eurovision fans", says Lys Assia who won the first ever contest back in 1956 in Lugano, Switzerland. She still remains one of the main faces of the contest, having attended the event for a number of years now.

"The classic Thursday event at Stockholm Pride is going to be magical. Being able to offer both the first ever and latest Eurovision winners shows that generation is no barrier, just like this year's theme, We Are Family", says Jörgen Eriksson, Festival Manager for Stockholm Pride.

Stockholm Pride takes place between the 30th of July and the 3rd of August. The offical song for this year's Pride is New Colours sung by Janet Leon.
