'Luxembourg Song Contest' back for its second edition in January
18 September 2024 at 12:20 CESTThat Fighter spirit continues!
After a grand-scale gala was enjoyed by many at its inaugural edition in January, Luxembourg Song Contest will be returning in 2025.
Aiming to showcase talent from the region, Luxembourg Song Contest will ultimately result in the winner representing the Grand Duchy at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel.
The victorious song on the night will have been decided by both a public vote and an international jury. And if the show is anything like its first edition in 2024, anyone tuning in can expect plenty of Eurovision-themed surprises and show-stoppers, to keep us entertained.
Broadcaster RTL is currently accepting song submissions until 6 October, and interested creatives can find out more about the application process right here.
The winner of the first Luxembourg Song Contest was Fighter by TALI. The song ended up taking Luxembourg to the Grand Final in Malmö, where it finished in 13th place.
It was Luxembourg's first appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest in 31 years, after it had managed to amass 5 victories between its debut in 1956 and its (once upon a time) last appearance in 1993.
The second Luxembourg Song Contest is set to take place on 25 January 25 at the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette in the south-west of Luxembourg.
Ticket sales for the big event will be made available, and RTL will be announcing details on that soon.
