
Jurij Veklenko chosen to represent Lithuania in Eurovision 2019

- Monika Marija – Light On
Jurij received twelve points from the professional jury, as well as from the viewers at home. Monika Marija finished second, receiving ten points from each. Jury and viewers were in complete alignment about the ranking of the songs.

Jurij Veklenko is already known to the Eurovision community. In 2013 he was a backing vocalist for the Lithuanian singer Andrius Pojavis, in 2015 he joined Vaidu Baumila and Monika Linkyte on stage for their performance.
Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest
Following Lithuania's debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, the country withdrew from the competition and only returned in 1999.
Lithuania scored its best placing in 2006 when We Are The Winners performed by LT United came sixth. The country has only made it to the top ten in the Grand Final once since then, in 2016 with Donny Montell's I've Been Waiting For This Night.
Last year in Lisbon, Ieva Zasimauskaitė finished twelfth in the Grand Final with the ballad When We're Old.
