Listen to the Spanish songs

15 February 2012 at 14:15 CET

The popular singer Pastora Soler was selected internally by TVE in December last year to perform the entry of Spain at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest Final on the 26th of May. It was announced then that she would perform a number of songs in a TV show. The date to listen to the songs has arrived.

The two songs that go straight to the Spanish Final are

  • Quédate Conmigo (Stay With Me) written by Thomas G:son, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson & Erik Bernholm
  • Tu Vida Es Tu Vida (Your life Is Your Life) written by Max Miona, Eleonora Giudizi & Juan María Montes
I was thrilled the first time I heard Quédate Conmigo. It has a very nice melody and grows from start to finish so I can show a great vocal development

The first one is Pastora's favourite song, as she stated herself, a power ballad written by G:son & Sánchez-Ohlsson, who already wrote the Spanish entry back in 2007, I Love You Mi Vida with D'Nash. The second title is the more rhythmic Tu Vida Es Tu Vida, one of the songs included on Pastora Soler's latest album Una Mujer Como Yo. "This is a new dance version. It is a song dedicated to gay and people and hidden love", Pastora confirms.

Then there are the two songs from which the users of the Spanish Television website have to pick one to make a final with three songs:

  • Ahora O Nunca (Now Or Never) written by José Abraham
  • Me Despido De Ti (I Say Goodbye To You) written by Marco Deltoni, Xerónimo Manzur & Javier Rodríguez

The choice is between the ballad Ahora O Nunca, and the mid-tempo song Me Despido De Ti, the opening track to her album Una Mujer Como Yo released in late 2011. To vote for your favourite of these two songs all you have to do is provide your e-mail address and confirm one vote per user there until the 20th of February. On that day TVE will announce the three finalist songs.

Pastora is anxious to know the results and perform the songs in the Spanish national selection on the 3rd of March where the ultimate choice will be made by an expert jury and televote.
