Lisa Angell is the French hopeful in Vienna. The singer shares with us her first impressions and feelings about her partaking. The announcement about her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest sounded like a jackpot: ”It was so fantastic…”

On stage in Vienna, Lisa Angell will perform a powerful ballade: “It has strong lyrics and music […] because it conveys a message of peace - a positive message."

The French participant is a big fan of the Contest and watches Europe’s favourite TV show since she was a child. “Every year we set in front of the TV. In the evening I put on my little dress… Of course I had already learned the song that was to represent France, and I performed for my family.” Lisa Angell has a daughter who expects her to bring home the trophy.

About Lisa Angell

Of Italian origin by her father, Lisa Angell grew up in Nice with only one dream: To become a singer. At the age of 11, she participated in several radio contests and won the competition at the Carnival of Nice 4 years in a row. At the age of 15, Lisa started taking classical training at the Nice Conservatoire. Later on, the young artist took a decision to live from music, performing in piano bars across the French Riviera.

In 2001, driven by her passion, the young lady embarked on an adventure and settled briefly in Paris. From that time the song Des Années Après, written by Didier Barbelivien, was born.

8 years later, invited by Dani Lary on one of his shows, Lisa met Patrick Sébastien on the set of the show Plus Grand Cabaret Du Monde. He offered her to sing on the show Les Années Bonheur. Afterwards, he produced and wrote songs for her first album Les Divines, released in 2011.

Lisa's second album Des Mots… (2013) was introduced by the single Je Saurai T’aimer, a cover of the song by Melanie Cohl which itself is the French adaptation of The Power Of Love by Celine Dion. In the same year, Lisa joined the recurring singers of the show Les Chansons D’abord, hosted by Natasha St-Pier on France 3.

Before paying tribute to the songstresses from the 30s, 40s and 50s with her third album Frou-Frou last spring, Lisa and Tony Carreira duetted the song L’oiseau Et L’enfant for his album.

N’oubliez Pas was written by Robert Goldman. It is the first single of Lisa Angell’s upcoming album. With her song, Lisa addresses a universal message, a message of peace to the whole Europe.
