14 February 2009 at 23:50 CET

10 songs took part in the Polish final Piosenka dla Europy 2009 tonight and without having a clear favourite beforehand, many singers were tipped as probable winners. It was ultimately Lidia Kopania who convinced the televoters most while getting the 2nd highest marks from the jury:

  • Stachursky - I Nie Mów Nic 9th
  • Det Betales - Jacqueline 10th
  • Man Meadow - Love Is Gonna Get You 6th
  • Dali - Everyday 7th
  • Ira - Dobry Czas 5th
  • Artur Chamski - Kilka Slów 4th
  • Marco Bocchino & Ola Szwed  - All My Life 2nd
  • Tigrita Project - Mon Chocolat 8th
  • Renton - I'm Not Sure 3rd
  • Lidia Kopania - I Don't Wanna Leave 1st

Poland was drawn into the 2nd Semi-Final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest and will thus compete on the 14th of May in Moscow. Last year, the country managed to qualify for the final with Isis Gee's For Life. Poland has been participating in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1994 and their best placing was already in their first attempt when Edyta Gorniak came second, just beaten by Ireland.
