Tonight, the final of the German  national selection Unser Star für Oslo was held in Cologne. The show was  presented by Sabine Heinrich and Matthias Opdenhövel, who had already presented the seven preliminary heats in the past weeks. In those shows, a total of 20 candidates showed their talent, and in the end, the TV public decided who would go on to the next round. In the semi-final on Tuesday, Jennifer Braun and Lena Meyer-Landrut were picked as the finalists for tonight.

A jury panel commented on tonight's performances, but did not have the  right to vote - televoting solely decided on the winner tonight. The  jury members were Stefanie Kloß,  lead singer of the band Silbermond, Stefan Raab and Xavier Naidoo.

First, each singer presented three songs to the public, out of which two were the same but  have been arranged in a different way, while one of the songs has been  written especially for Jennifer and Lena, respectively. In the first  voting round, the public picked their one favourite song for  each singer. This is the list of songs performed by each singer (in order of appearance, qualifying entries in bold):

  • Jennifer - Bee
  • Lena - Bee
  • Jennifer - Satellite
  • Lena - Satellite
  • Jennifer - I Care For You
  • Lena - Love Me

Each of the two winning songs was performed again afterwards by the respecitve singer. In the second  voting round, the public then chose the German entry for the 2010  Eurovision Song Contest out of the two final acts. In the end, Lena Meyer-Landrut convinced the TV public and won the televoting. Thus, she will sing Satellite in Oslo, a song written by Julie Frost and John Gordan. The song Love Me, which Lena Meyer-Landrut had written herself together with Stefan Raab, was not selected for the super-final by the public.
