After two weeks of Semi-Finals and tonight's 'Supernova' final, Latvia decided to send Carousel to the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv with the song 'That Night'.

After two semi-finals, most of the acts fine tuned their performances, hoping to surprise the audience once again. These eight acts took part in tonight's final of Supernova:

The winner was ultimately determined by televoters, a jury panel and the number of Spotify streams of each song. Votes cast via the Alfa app were included in the televoting results.

During the show, guest performances were given by Patrisha and hip hop artist HIS.

About Carousel

Sabine Žuga and Maris Vasilievsky make up the indie pop band Carousel and have been together since 2015. "Performing and being inspired by the music of their favorite authors, the band is now realizing a dream of creating their own original music and working on their upcoming album. Musical diversity and the quality of performances has made it possible to perform a lot in Latvia and abroad," their official biography says.

That Night was written by Sabine Žuga and Maris Vasilievsky, and produced by Aleksandr Volks. The song also features on their first album and marks Sabine's debut as song writer.

Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest

Latvia joined the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000, when it immediately secured a top-three position with BrainStorm's catchy My Star. Two years later Marie N. won the contest in Tallinn with I Wanna, bringing the 2003 contest to the Latvian capital Riga. Marie N. co-hosted the show with BrainStorm frontman Renārs Kaupers.

Last year, Latvia's Laura Rizzotto didn't make it to the Grand Final with her song Funny Girl.
