Latvia: Preview the 'Supernova' final
08 February 2023 at 12:00 CETHOW TO WATCH: LTV1 will be airing the 'Supernova' final at 20:10 CET on Saturday 11 February. Latvian broadcaster LTV will also be live-streaming the show on their online player.
Latvia is once again using the popular Supernova format as the pre-selection process for finding its entry to the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.
Supernova 2023 takes place over 2 nights. On Saturday 4 February, the semi-final was held, which saw 14 competing songs reduced to a neat 10, after a jury vote and a public vote gave their scores. On Saturday 11 February, these 10 songs will now compete against each other once more, in the Supernova final.
Scoring in the Supernova final will be contributed by both a jury vote and a public vote, with each given a 50% weighting. The winner will go on to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, in the year in which we mark the 20th anniversary of when the Baltic country hosted the Eurovision Song Contest for the very first time in Riga in 2003.
On the night of the Supernova final, we'll have the hosts Ketija Šēnberga and Lauris Reiniks introducing the artists and presenting the voting. They'll also be saying hello to an extra-special guest performer: 2019 Eurovision Song Contest winner Duncan Laurence will be landing in Riga to perform his Contest winner, the global hit single Arcade.
The Songs
If you're tuning in on Saturday night, these are the 10 songs that you'll see competing for the Supernova win, in the order that they'll be performed in:
Alise Haijima – Tricky
Luīze – You To Hold Me
Raum – Fake Love
Toms Kalderauskis – When It All Falls
Artūrs Hatti – Love Vibes
Patrisha – Hush
Sudden Lights – Aijā
24. Avēnija – You Said
Avéi – Let Me Go
Markus Riva – Forever
Latvia will perform in the First Semi-Final of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.
