The participants were judged by a four member jury including vocal consultant Ieva Kerēvica, Kaspars Roga (member of the group Brainstorm) and music business professional Guntars Račs. The public chose two songs to go through to the final, whilst the jury chose two songs from the remaining six songs.
The programme was presented by Ketija Šēnberga and Toms Grēviņš.

The top four songs progress to the final of Supernova on the 22nd of February. In the final the winner will be chosen by televoting alone.
Latvia will compete in the Second Semi-Final to be held on Thursday the 21st May in Vienna.
