For two Saturday nights in February, we'll be rocking up to Riga - as Supernova lights up Latvia in preparation for Basel 2025!

20 songs will compete in a semi-final on Saturday 1 February, with a public vote and a jury vote selecting their favourite songs to proceed to the final. And on Saturday 8 February, both the viewing public and a professional jury will be called upon once again - to vote for the song they wish to represent Latvia at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest.

We can already get stuck into Supernova speculation, as LTV has whet appetites by releasing the names of the acts that we can look forward to seeing. On Thursday 20 November, the Latvian broadcaster announced the full lineup of 20 artists, plus the titles of the songs that they'll be competing with.

One of these will be representing Latvia at Basel 2025:

Adelina - Electric Love

Chris Noah - Romance Isn't Dead

Citi Zēni - Ramtai

Emilija - Heartbeat

Grēta - Monster

Julianna - Something in the Water

Justs - Fit Right

Katrīna Gupalo - Scarlett Challenger

Kobra - Zelts

The lineup includes two names that have already had the opportunity to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Justs competed for his country at the 2016 Contest in Stockholm, with Heartbeat. And the band Citi Zēni participated at Turin 2022, with Eat Your Salad.

The 20 songs will be released in full on Wednesday 4 December, but LTV has already released a roundup of previews for each of the songs, which you can watch here:

Latvia's participation in Basel comes after a high note in Malmö, when the Baltic nation managed to qualify to the Grand Final for the first time since 2016.

This was courtesy of the song Hollow, performed memorably by the artist Dons. In the Grand Final Latvia amassed a score of 64 points, finishing in 16th place.
