Tonight, Ukraine came one step closer to chosing the entry for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf: The fifth and last preselection round was held, with three more entries qualifying for the semi-final stage of the national selection. The decision was taken by a professional jury, who sent the following entries in tonight's show directly to the next round (qualifiers set in bold):

  1. Pavlo Tabakov - Shake Your Body
  2. Jamala - Smile
  3. Denis Povaliy - Aces High
  4. Maksim Novytsky - True Love Can Free You
  5. Tetyana Vorzheva - Vse Resheno
  6. Vroda - Zhovtee Zhyto

Initially, seven acts had been selected for this preselection round, but one of the contestants, Masha Sobko, who had already came second in the Ukrainian national final for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, decided to withdraw her entry and focus on a musical project instead.

Till today, fifteen semi-finalists have already been picked by the festival jury. However, the TV public will also have a say in the decision - they can vote by SMS on all the entries that came fourth to seventh in their respective preselection round and therefore have not gained a place in the semi-final due to the decision of the jury yet. The results of the televoting are to be announced within the following days.
