Just before the final result of the Nationaal Songfestival was announced on Sunday night in Hilversum, Joan Franka and her song You And Me were trailing in third place. For her it was the end, either Ivan or Pearl were going to win after coming on top with the professional jury.

However, no sooner had presenter Jan Smit called for the televotes to be added to the jury votes, it became clear that the public were in love with Joan and rocketed her and her song to victory. She now has the honour of representing the Netherlands in the second Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on the 24th of May in Baku.
