Jedward enter Big Brother in the UK

Yesterday it was revealed that the big-haired and hyperactive pop duo, Jedward, were to enter the 2011 edition of Celebrity Big Brother, broadcast on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom.

The twins, otherwise known as John and Edward, shot to fame after competing in the talent show The X Factor in 2009 in the UK. Since then their success has known no bounds, appearing on TV, releasing hit singles and often appearing in large newspapers and magazines.

In May, Jedward represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, achieving a respectable eight place and as a result put Ireland back on map after some disappointing results in previous years.

Jedward were joined in the Big Brother house last night by Bobby Sabel, Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff (whose ex-husband David has been rumoured, and denied, to consider entering Europe's favourite TV show for the Netherlands), Lucien Laviscount, Sally Bercow, Darryn Lyons, Amy Childs, Paddy Doherty, Tara Reid and ex Atomic Kitten member, Kerry Katona.

Big Brother had a very successful run from 2000 to 2010 on Channel 4 in the UK but was dropped last year. Channel 5 then decided to revive the show starting with the celebrity edition.
