Jamala to perform at the Alfa Jazz Fest

This year's winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will be one of the main performers at the international Alfa Jazz Fest in Lviv, Ukraine. The singer has prepared a special programme called "The Soul of Jamala" especially for the event. 

Jamala’s headlining appearance at the Alfa Jazz Fest will take place on 28th June at the main concert venue named after Eddie Rosner. The singer’s performance will consist of two parts. During the first Jamala, accompanied by a jazz quartet, will perform compositions from different years, jazz standards and Crimean Tatar folk songs, and in the second part she will sing the songs from her album Breath (2015).

Jamala performed at Alfa Jazz for the first time in 2013 presenting her album All Or Nothing. Her show for this year's programme, "The Soul Of Jamala" will be performed only once at the Alfa Jazz Fest. The concert will be broadcast on the music channel M1 as well as on YouTube.

In addition to the permanent band serving the singer, the concert will be attended by famous jazz musicians such as Yukhym Chupakhin (piano), Denys Moroz (bass, harmonica), Serhii Balalaiev (drums), Dmytro Bondarev (trumpet, flugelhorn), Orhan Agabeyli (percussion), Shevket Zmorka (accordion), Ruslan Bolatov (piano) and Armen Kostandian (duduk).

Alfa Jazz Fest is an international jazz festival annually held in Ukraine in June. The festival was held for the first time in 2011. The Guardian newspaper included Alfa Jazz Fest in the list of top-10 jazz events in Europe. The festival organiser is Leopolis Jazz LLC. the creative curator of the Festival is jazz expert, Oleksii Kogan. The festival board includes renowned people in Ukraine, including musician Sviatoslav Vakarchuk. Every year, more than 40 thousand visitors from Ukraine and other countries attend the event.
