Izabo to represent Israel in Baku

07 February 2012 at 19:22 CET

After an internal selection process where acts were invited to submit entries to a special committee for consideration, it has been announced that the group Izabo made up of Ran Shem-Tov, Jonathan Levy, Shiri Hadar and Nir Mantzur will represent Israel at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku with the song Time.

The song was penned by two of the group's members, Ran Shem-Tov and Shiri Hadar.

In 2011 Dana International came 15th in the second Semi-Final of Europe's favourite TV show in Düsseldorf with Ding Dong and consequently failed to qualify to the final.

IBA hopes that Israel's fortunes will be turned around with Izabo in Baku on the 22nd of May where they will perform in the first Semi-Final.
